The controller of your personal information covered by this privacy policy is Rutherford House B&B, High Street, Town Yetholm, Scottish Borders, TD5 8RF (collectively, “we” or “us”). This policy describes what information we collect from guests, and how we use, share and store it.
What information we collect
For bookings made directly with us, we’ll collect your name, phone number and email address. We’ll also make a note of any dietary requirements and arrival time if it’s not during our normal check-in period. We accept payment for direct bookings either in cash or by BACS bank transfer, so we don’t collect any credit or debit card details.
How we use your information
We’ll use your information to email and text you confirmation of booking, and to communicate with you before your stay. We’ll also use your information to contact you during and after your stay if necessary (for example, if you’ve left any belongings behind). We won’t add your details to any mailing lists or send you any marketing emails.
How we share information
We won’t share your information with anyone else.
Data retention and security
We’ll delete your personal information at the end of the B&B season. We take all reasonable steps to protect the information we receive from you from loss, misuse or unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, and/or destruction.
Third party sites and services
For bookings made through Booking.com and Airbnb, your personal information is covered by their privacy policies. We don’t copy any of your information from Booking.com and Airbnb.
