Scottish Borders Walking Festival – 2nd-9th September 2023
The Scottish Borders Walking Festival is being hosted by Kelso this year and takes place from the 2nd to the 9th September. Kelso is about 7 miles away from our B&B in Yetholm.
Walks and social events
Walking in the Borders is easily accessible, with a broad range of terrain, excellent panoramic views and plenty of historic interest. The festival offers a wide range of guided walks in the local area to suit all tastes and levels of fitness. Walks include hikes up in the Cheviot Hills, the Border Abbeys Way, riverside rambles, castles, stately homes, hill forts, roman roads and spectacular views.
There’s a also a social programme of events in the evenings, including a quiz night, bridge playing, history talk, scratch choir, and wine and beer tastings. The week ends with a traditional Scottish ceilidh and dinner.
Tickets available now
Tickets are available to book now from the Borders Walking Festival – some of the walks have already sold out so don’t leave it too late if you’re thinking of taking part.
Looking for somewhere to stay?
If you’re looking for accomodation for the Borders Walking Festival, our B&B is approximately 7 miles from Kelso in Town Yetholm. We love walking and exploring the local area ourselves when we’re not looking after our guests. You’ll be set up for the day with a good breakfast, come back to home-made cake on your tea tray and there are two good pubs in the village for evening meals. We have boot trays and plenty of space to dry wet clothes and footwear. If you need to borrow a mending kit, boot wax or to replace a broken boot lace, we always have those things ready. Hopefully you won’t need them, but we also have first aid supplies available, including Compeed plasters for any blisters.
